WHAT WE WANT YOU TO KNOW

 First things first.  Janet is the artist.  The business is hers.  This text comes from me--her husband, Barry.  We live in Wichita, Kansas and operate the business from our home.  Craft shows, selling to retail stores, special orders, and our website keep us busy.   Janet has been pressing flowers since she was a small child growing up on a farm in Greenwood County, Kansas.  

She began to frame the pressed flowers then started adding postcards her grandparents had exchanged with each other during their courtship.  Friends soon saw she had an eye for color and the ability to give depth to the pictures.  She made pictures for friends and that developed into a hobby which then became a business--she creates and sells between 6,000 and 7,000 pictures a year.

We grow the flowers and press them.  The ferns in the pictures are purchased and they are painted to insure color retention.   The flowers are natural color and retain their color for many years if protected from direct sunlight.  Some of the frames are antique, but the majority are new.  The paper memorabiia--whether old postcards, sheet music, trade cards, old magazine prints, or calling cards--are original.  We use no reproductions.  You will learn we like to share the interesting history of many of our items.
